In December 2014, CanUgan arranged for prosthetic hands for those who have lost their forearms.  At the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 6, CanUgan, with the help of our local intermediary, KADUPEDI, provided these prosthetic hands to a number of people.

Kabugho Sofia was one of the recipients of a prosthetic hand.  She is 68 and lives in Kyarumba village in the Kyarumba Sub County. She is married with 11 children and 18 grandchildren. Sofia is excited that she can now hold a cup of water by herself and drink, and can dress herself independently. These are the everyday tasks she was unable to do before acquiring the prosthetic hand.
